    The wood on the front of that drawer is oak, but the other wood looks very much like poplar and that was a very common practice as the polar saved money in the production of those desks!

Also, I have a facebook group ... martin knives survival tools and skills ... where guys can trade / buy my knives and I also post there.

    Very beautiful work. Knives of that time were typically less heavy-duty than these. They seem to have favored thinner stock. This was before men used knives for axe work.

    Mr. Martin, your knives and sheaths are top tier and it’s my opinion you should add an additional two or three hundred to each of your knives. They will still sell just try and see.

    Bought one of the early Randall model #14 when he was offering a special price to the military.Soon after I went with my unit to vietnam, the knife got a lot of use in the jungle and held up well, but it was mild steel and was difficult to keep from rusting.I passed it on to a replacement when I left, often wondered where that knife ended up.

    Ed is a master at his craft. I have one of his knives and I was also lucky to be able to get one of his son's knives Newt who sadly passed away. Newt was also a master of his craft.

    My Ed Martin knife is beast of a tool. Also one of the nicest sheaths made. IMO owning one of these is priceless.
